This one is new to me, but I’m always searching for new question type memes, so I’ll give it a try!  If you want to play along hop over to the Saturday 9 blog.

 

Saturday 9: Life is a Lemon And I Want My Money Back

1. When was the last time that you asked for your money back?

It’s been awhile actually…so long I can’t even remember!

2. What was the last thing that you did to help someone?

I put together a website for a friend’s business for free this morning.

3. At what point of your life do you think you started to understand who you are?

What are you talking about?  I’m almost 31, and I still don’t understand who I am!

4. Are there times when you thought you had taken a fall, only to discover more about yourself?

Many times, and it happened again just recently.

5. What was the last thing you did where you could not believe in what you were doing?

I quit my job and set out to find something that made me happy.

6. Do you think that you must struggle to become strong?

Definitely. 

7. Do you feel that your dreams have meaning or are entirely random?

I think it’s a bit of both.  I believe your subconscious can use dreams to present things you can’t handle while you’re awake, but I also think some are just totally random blurbs of junk.

8. What was the last promise you broke?

I promised my mom we would stop by to see her tonight, but I couldn’t.  Hubby didn’t make it home from work until almost 9, and she had other things she needed to do this evening.

9. Do you collect anything?

Coins, Holiday Barbies (not by choice…I get one every year for Christmas), seashells, and such.

I know Unconscious Mutterings comes out on Sunday, but I'm always behind when I feel like doing a meme. My brain feels fried tonight, and I need something to get the juices flowing for the gabillion, okay 15, articles I have to write before midnight.  I think a meme should do just the trick.

1. What is your least favorite Christmas dessert? bread pudding

2.  Which cartoon that was popular when you were a child could you just not get into? I really can't remember any.  I loved pretty much all the cartoons!

3. What’s the most embarrassing cell phone ringtone that you’ve heard someone else’s phone play? One of my male friends used to have a Backstreet Boys ringtone.  I'm not sure if he found it embarrassing, but it was pretty embarrassing to me when I was out in public with him!

4. When you’re having a bad day or you’re in a bad mood, which song best keeps you in that bad mood or makes it that much worse? Um...what kind of question is this?  I guess when I'm pissed off and want to stay that way I listen to rock, but there's not any particular song that keeps me pissed off.

5. What was the first time that you remember truly feeling like an adult? Heck I still don't feel like an adult!

6. When someone first walks into a room, what is the first thing you tend to notice about that person?  The eyes.  I always notice a person's eyes before anything else.

Curious As A Cat 149

I've been so busy and/or lazy (lol) that I haven't done any memes in awhile. I think it's just about time I do one, don't ya think? Curious as a Cat is one of my faves that I haven't participated in lately, so let's have a go at it!


1) Who do you wish could find their inner spirit to become more comfortable in their life?

That one's easy, my sister, but I won't tell you why.

2) You have to fight a duel tomorrow at dawn. You have been allowed to choose the weapons. What do you choose?

Do powers count? Like invisibility? No? Ok um a very long sword and a very powerful fully automatic machine gun. If you're going, go big! ;-)

3) What’s the best thing to inherit other than money?

Knowledge that is passed down through family generations.

4) Do you hope to run your own company some day?

I pretty much already do! I wouldn't want to run anything big, but I'm perfectly happy with my own little home based business.

5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.


The colors make me think of the mint chocolate chip ice cream I used to love getting at the Botanical gardens when I was a kid. Now I don't really care that much for mint chocolate chip.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?

Well that depends on the secret and the person ;-). I'd say 7 1/2.

Describe your hair (color, texture, length).

My hair has gotten a lot darker over the last year. I've gone from light brown to about medium brown. Right now the longest layer is right past my shoulders, and I have frizzy wavy hair. That's why I flat iron it.

Main Course

What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow?

Considering I'm learning to ride the motorcycle by myself now, slow. In the car I don't fly. We've got motorcycles for the adrenaline rush. I hardly ever drive when I'm with Hubby so I'm that aggressive passenger with a slight case of road rage ;-).

Dessert

When was the last time you had a really bad week?

I can honestly say it's been awhile. I mean this hasn't been the greatest week, but it's a typical week where a couple things go wrong. For me a really bad week is one that sticks out in my mind, and right now I can't think of any. That's a good sign, right?

That depends on my mood. Sometimes I'd say 10 because I value my quiet alone time, like when I'm trying to work, but other times I really want people around

Describe your sleeping habits.

Sleep is overrated. lol Ok so I do sleep, but I have no set pattern. Sometimes I sleep at night, sometimes during the day, it just all depends on what my body does. The past few week's I've slept all day and stayed up all night, but that's sure to change. It always does. My body likes swing shifts.

What are three things that are on your desk that shouldn’t be?

Haha! Only three things? Wow there's so much junk on my desk that I can't even see my desk. I'll just pick out the three things closest to me.

1. Keys to my Saturn. Too bad my Saturn has been out of service since Feb 07!

2. Dinner. Yep I ate my Arby's Market Fresh sandwhich at my desk, and I haven't moved to put the rest in the fridge yet.

3. Bubba's harness. I took it off him when I brought him back inside, but like I said I haven't moved from my chair long enough to place it on it's hook in the utility room.

I'm off to try an acne treatment sample I have here (also sitting on my desk), so maybe I'll pick up some of this junk on my way to the bathroom.

The question:

Flowers. Do you like flowers? When is the last time you received flowers? When is the last time you sent someone flowers? Do you think purchasing flowers is a waste of money? Do you garden? What is your favorite flower?

The answer:

Yes I like flowers, but normally I prefer not to give or receive flowers. Even though flowers are beautiful, I don't like them as presents for the simple fact that they don't last. The last time I received flowers was last year for Valentine's day. My mom bought my sister and I both a dozen carnations and a red rose.

Gardening is something I'd love to do, but I definitely don't have a green thumb. I mean I'm the girl who killed 3 aloe plants because I didn't realize they don't need water every day! I definitely didn't inherit my farmer dad's green thumb. I do have flowers all around me though. My grandma loves to garden, and her flowers span from her house to mine and all in between. When I want fresh flowers I just walk outside to cut a few instead of spending money on any.

My absolute favorite flower is the iris. Lillies are right behind. I have gorgeous orange and pink tiger lillies right outside my bedroom window.

The question:

What is the most extravagant single item purchase you have ever made, other than a house or car? Why did you purchase that item? Did you regret it later?

This one is kind of hard for me to answer because I don't buy a lot of extravagant things. I've always been the frugal shopper and more often than not I don't buy something I really want just because I can't see shelling out large amounts of cash.

I would have to say the biggest purchase I've made is my motorcycle. I know it's a vehicle, but it's not a car...it's a recreational "toy", so I think it counts. Hubby and I had talked about getting a bike because of gas prices, but we always jokingly talked about it. We walked into the dealership one day just to look around and came out with a bike. I've been riding motorcycles since before I could drive, so it was something I really wanted, but just didn't want to spend my money on. I ended up doing it anyway, and I don't regret a bit of it. It's my sanity.

All About You

When I discovered That's My Answer on Tuesday I've found myself looking at the site more and more to see what questions are being asked. I like to make myself think, and I guess that's why I like memes and quizzes so much. Most of the questions I've just sat down and thought about what my answer would be, but I'm sharing these.

What are you good at?

I would like to think I'm good at blogging, but I know I'm good at most computer related tasks. I'm pretty good at multi-tasking although I could do a lot better. I'm really good at analyzing situations and finding a solution to the problem.

What are you not so good at?

Staying on task. I said I could multi-task, but I didn't say I'd keep on the task at hand. I'll be doing 10 things at once and realize I totally forgot to do the most important thing. My mind tends to wander to something else.

Be honest, how long do leftovers last in your house?

Not long at all. When you've got a hubby like mine, everything gets eaten pretty quickly.

Do you understand gigabytes and all that computer language mumbo jumbo?

Oh yeah. You throw a computer question at me, and I'll be able to answer it or figure out an answer in a matter of minutes. Computers are a hobby that I turned into a business. Ask me about typical housewife stuff like how to get out a certain stain or what temperature to bake a ham and I'm clueless.

If you were a dog, would you want a really long tail, or a short stumpy tail?

I'd be a bulldog with a short stumpy tail. That way I could be just like my bulldog, Bubba, spending most of my days sitting in a chair looking out the window...when I wasn't sleeping of course.

Who cleans your house? Who do you wish cleaned your house?

For the most part I clean my own house, but of course I have to admit I don't clean nearly as much as I should. After all, a clean house is a sign of a broken computer, right?

Who do I wish cleaned my house? Oh that one's easy! I'd love to hire Channing Tatum for the job, and he'd have to clean all day naked! :-p Oh I know. Leave it to me to want to watch a hot naked man cleaning all day!

Tons of things stress me out. Lately it's stuff not working properly like my cable internet, my server, one of my computers, stuff like that. What calms me down is spending time with my family and friends. Blogging calms me, too. It gives me a chance to rant about whatever I need to get off my chest.

When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it?

Today actually. Hubby's aunt sent us a box of her famous cookies that she makes for New Year's every year. I'm not exactly sure what they're really called (she calls them cookie wafers), but they're really good. They're like huge thin wafers made with a waffle maker. Anybody have an idea what these are? Whatever you call them they're super good!

If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be?

My summer home would definitely be in the North Carolina mountains within close driving distance to Deal's Gap. My winter home would definitely be somewhere really warm like a tropical location.

Describe the nicest piece of clothing that you own.

That's a toughie. I guess I would have to say the sweater my Grandma bought me for Christmas. It's nothing special really, but I haven't worn it yet, so it's still nice. I ruin everything I wear in some way.

I wouldn't. Memories, good or bad, help make us who we are today.
