You know what really sucks? The power being out when you've got a newborn that needs to stay cool in these hot temps. Our power has been out for a couple hours now. Something on the transformer next to our house went boom, and that was it. Hubby said it looked like some kind of ceramic insulator busted, but I don't know anything about that kind of stuff. All I know is it was getting way too hot for the baby, so we finally gave in and headed to the in laws for awhile hoping the power wouldn't be off too much longer. Unfortunately it's still out, so I guess our best bet is to send Hubby back to the house for enough essentials to spend the night here. :(
