Gillette SatinCare In Shower Moisturizer Review

Commenters are having a hard time finding this product in stores and online.  I have found it at both local Walmart, and it is now available online at Amazon.com. I have added the product link to my Amazon Sidebar Widget and below for those of you having a hard time finding the product!

At Christmas my mom gave me a gift pack from Gillette that included a can of SatinCare shave gel, a Gillette Venus Embrace Razor, and a bottle of the new SatinCare In Shower Moisturizer in Lavender Kiss.  I have to say I absolutely love this new moisturizer!

As I’ve mentioned plenty of times on this blog I have some seriously sensitive skin.  I just wrote about how even baby detergent caused me to break out!  Well, my super sensitive skin is also super dry skin, and pregnancy did nothing but make it worse.  My ob/gyn warned me that I would probably have skin problems until I stop breastfeeding, and since I plan to continue breastfeeding for as long as I possibly can (at least until those little teeth become a problem), I’ve been battling the extra dryness.

My entire body is one dry itchy mess, and my knuckles are cracking and bleeding.  Even the various products I used throughout my pregnancy aren’t working anymore (including Eucerin and Aquaphor), so I was super excited when I tried the Satin Care Moisturizer, and it actually worked!

The website says

Get silky smooth legs right out of the shower with new SatinCare® Dry Skin In-Shower Moisturizer. This Dry Skin formula, with Shea Butter, helps lock in moisture. Simply smooth onto wet legs, rinse and pat dry to leave your skin feeling soft and silky.

Using the moisturizer is simple.  You shower as normal, and after you shave you smooth it on your legs, or in my case I smooth it on my entire body.  Then you just rinse it off.  I’m not sure if it helps any, but I let it sit on my body for about a minute before I rinse because I can use all the help I can get.  At first I felt kind of weird about it because the first time I used it I felt slimy after my shower.  After I toweled off the slimy feeling went away, and my skin felt great.  I’ve smoothed this stuff after every shower for 2 weeks now, and I can tell a HUGE difference in my skin.  My skin is still super dry, but it’s getting better.  I’m not itchy all over anymore, and my knuckles are starting to heal.  I smelled so good, too!  Hours after my shower Hubby came home from work and asked me what smelled so good.  He was quite pleased to find out it was me!

The only place I’m not smoothing this stuff on is my face. My chin acne is back in full force, so I really don't think it'd be a good idea to use it on my face. I'll stick with my regular daily moisturizer for that, but I'm sold on the Satin Care In Shower Moisturizer for the rest of my body.

I also bought the same gift set for my mother for christmas and she loves it just as much as you, the only problem is, she cannot find it anywhere! Orginally, I bought the gift set at WalMart and since then, we have looked at; Walmart, CVS, Target, Rite Aid and we cannot find it!

So my question to you is; where are you buying yours? I even looked on the offical gillette website to try and buy it and they say they currently have no online partners who sell the product!

please help!!

I haven't ran out yet, but I also looked on their site tonight to see who sells it! They have Walmart & Kmart both listed as retailers, but none online. I'll have to check both and post my results. If I can't find it I'll be sending a letter to the company begging them to get some stocked because it's the ONLY thing helping my skin right now! I see there are other reviews on their site begging them to get some stocked.

This is Trish again. I have found several of these gift sets at my local WalMart. I wanted to see if anyone was still searching for this in shower lotion. If you are interested in the set, please send me an email, and I will be happy to purchase and them for you. Please email me at thaulcomb@yahoo.com if interested. Thank you :-)

Since I haven't ran out yet (but it's almost empty) I keep forgetting to search the shelves when I go shopping.

I just called my local Walmart, and they also have the gift sets. Unfortunately they don't have the single product on the shelves, but at least we now know of 2 Walmarts selling the gift sets!

Thank you Trish for checking for us! I'm still on the lookout for the product being sold as a single item, but I'm more than willing to purchase the entire set again if I have to.

Hopefully Gillette will see how much we love this product and get it on the shelves! I've sent them 2 emails already, and I urge everyone searching for the moisturizer to do the same.

Okay I am sorry if this posts twice I am having a problem posting the comment.

But I just wanted to let you ladies know that after several weeks of looking at my local Walmart, they have finally started selling the satin care in shower moisturizer in two different kinds for $3.97. I had saw a coupon this week for a dollar off satin care in shower moisturizer so I just knew they were going to have it. I hope you are just as excited as I am!

Thank you so much for letting us know! I'll have to swing by Walmart tomorrow to pick some up! I emptied the bottle tonight, and I need this stuff!

I didn't pick up a paper Sunday, so I'll have to ask around to see if anyone I know has one. If I find one online I'll list it on my freebies blog and share the link here.

We are right in between 2 walmarts, and even though when I called both told me they were carrying it I decided to check it out myself.

I went to the Seneca, SC location last night, and they did NOT have the product. I asked an associate for help finding it, and she came up empty handed.

I checked for it in the Central, SC location today, and they had it! That's the location I prefer to shop at anyway, so I'm happy to say I've seen it there with my own eyes. It was so new to the shelves they didn't even have a price tag for it yet.

I just bought some at my local Walmart, but it is in the shave section, not the lotion or body wash section. Hope that helps!

Thank you for mentioning that, Jesse! That's where I found mine, too, and I totally forgot that some people might be looking for it with the body wash or lotion.

This is the best moisturizer on the market, hands down. Too bad it is so hard to find. Gillette, PLEASE listen to your customers and stock this on store shelves consistently!

It's become impossible to find this moisturizer in stores now. I've been ordering 6 packs from Amazon because that's all that's available there now. Soap.com does sell individual bottles, but at $4.49 each it's cheaper in the long run to order the 6 pack. Plus I want to be well stocked because I have a feeling the product may be in a phase out stage, and that makes me really sad.
