This anniversary gift thing is really driving me nuts. I was awake all night thinking about it. Okay I was awake partly because my sleeping schedule is screwed and partly because I'm getting sicker by the minute, but that just gave me more time to think about a gift. Hubby's sick, too, and last night he said, "Honey, just buy me plenty of Nyquil for our anniversary." The poor guy knows I'm going to buy him Nyquil anyway, so that doesn't count.
I was searching for ideas and found a list of the traditional gifts given for each anniversary. I've seen these lists before, but I like the one that the Chicago Public Library has. It also gives an alternative modern gift for each anniversary. Apparently good gifts for our 4th anniversary are linens (traditional) and appliances (modern). That doesn't really help me any. I like how the list goes all the way up to the 100th anniversary. Do you know what the gift is?
A 10 carat diamond!
I guess if we live to the ripe old age of 121 and I've put up with hubby for 100 years the least he can do is buy me a 10 carat rock!
